About me

I grew up in Denver. My dad, Brian Winters, played and coached in the NBA. So basketball was always around ๐
Growing up
- I went to J.K. Mullen High School. We won the Colorado 5A state title in 2001. I made first team All-Tournament.
- I got zero Division I offers. So I did a post-grad year at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts.
Davidson
Then I went to Davidson. I started all four years, 2002 to 2006. We won 77 games while I was there. I majored in English.
- 2005 Southern Conference Player of the Year. We went 16 and 0 in the conference that year.
- AP honorable mention All-America, 2005.
- First team All-SoCon three times, 2004 to 2006. All-Freshman team in 2003. As a freshman I led the SoCon in 3-point percentage.
- Senior year we won the SoCon tournament. I scored 33 in the title game and was tournament MVP. That got us to the 2006 NCAA tournament.
- NABC All-District second team, 2006.
- One of five finalists for the Chip Hilton Award, 2006. It goes to a senior for character on and off the court.
- Tommy Peters Award, 2006. Davidson gives it to one male athlete each year for excellence on the field and campus leadership.
- 1,892 career points. 268 threes, which was the school record at the time.
- Davidson Athletics Hall of Fame, 2018.
Steph Curry showed up the year after I left. He broke my records pretty fast ๐
Playing pro
After Davidson I played in the Portsmouth Invitational and worked out for the Pacers, Pistons, and Bobcats. I went undrafted. Then came summer league with the Golden State Warriors in Las Vegas. After that, five years in Europe ๐
- L’Hermine de Nantes, France. 2006 to 2007. LNB Pro B. Logan and I played together there.
- Bayer Giants Leverkusen, Germany. 2007 to 2008. Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). We finished 3rd. I led the league in threes and made first team All-BBL.
- Düsseldorf Giants, Germany. 2008 to 2010. The club moved from Leverkusen to Düsseldorf, and I moved with it. Still the BBL. BBL All-Star in 2010.
- Atomerลmลฑ SE in Paks, Hungary. 2010 to 2011.
- Aris Thessaloniki, Greece. 2011. Playing at Aris was crazy. We had some of the craziest fans in Europe. See for yourself ๐ฅ I also told the story on a podcast.

Pro Skills Basketball ๐
Pro Skills Basketball is the main thing I’ve built. Logan Kosmalski and I started it together. We were teammates at Davidson, and we both played pro in Europe. We wanted youth basketball in the US to feel more like the pro clubs we played for over there. More professional, better coaching, and real player development.
- 2009: Logan and I try to start a summer camp at Lake Norman, near Charlotte. We were both still playing in Germany, so it was our off-season project. Nobody signed up ๐
- 2010: We work twice as hard on it. This time families sign up, and our first camps actually happen.
- 2011: We both stop playing and go full time on PSB. I start as a coach and Charlotte co-director.
- The next few years: PSB grows city by city. I run Charlotte, and later our program in China.
- 2017: The Jr. NBA names PSB one of 18 flagship youth basketball organizations.
- 2020: Our elite teams were having a lot of success. So we partnered with Steph Curry to run Team Curry. Boys and girls teams at 15U, 16U and 17U on the Under Armour circuit.
- Today: club teams, camps, clinics and academies for boys and girls in 28 cities. More than 34,000 families have signed up. 362 PSB players have gone on to play college basketball.
Logan is our CEO. I’m a co-founder and the Chief Growth Officer, so my job is growing PSB. Lately that means building software with AI for PSB. I’ll share a lot more about that soon ๐ค
Everything at PSB runs on 5 values we call F.O.C.U.S.: Fun, Overcome, Compete, Unity, and Self-improvement.
I also wrote The Ultimate Guide to College Basketball Recruiting for families going through it. And I’ve written a ton of blog posts on the PSB website โ๏ธ
Family โค๏ธ

I’ve been married to Jen since 2014. Our daughter Whitley was born in 2016, and our son Cash was born in 2018. We also have Bailey, our golden retriever, and Merlin, our new cat ๐ฑ We live in Charlotte, NC.
Fun story: Jen was a cheerleader at North Carolina while I was at Davidson. We didn’t know each other yet. But she actually cheered at one of my games, when we played the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill ๐
Our year abroad ๐
For the 2025 to 2026 school year, the four of us did a worldschooling and travel adventure overseas. We lived out of suitcases: 4 big checked bags, 4 carry-ons, and 4 backpacks ๐งณ We did it with Boundless Life. They set up homes, school, and a community of other families in each place.
- Fall 2025: Pistoia, Italy ๐ฎ๐น
- December 2025: the UK, on our own ๐ฌ๐ง
- January to March 2026: Kotor, Montenegro ๐ฒ๐ช
- April to June 2026: Syros, Greece ๐ฌ๐ท

Today
What I’m into and passionate about today: entrepreneurship, AI, travel, family, bitcoin, health and wellness, and investing โค๏ธ
In 2025 I went on a basketball trip to Nigeria with Access 2 Success, on my own time. My Davidson teammate Andrew Lovedale started it ๐ณ๐ฌ
I’m building software with AI, training for the Kiawah Island half marathon, and walking my dog Bailey. More on my Now page.
